Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a **Flight Deck Safety, Certification, and Integration Manager **reporting to the Senior Manager, Flight Deck Safety, Certification & Integration Strategy and will support all BCA programs. This role will support the teams at the Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil location.

We are seeking a motivated team manager that will be integral in shaping the future of our flight deck path forward, particularly as it relates to human factors evaluation and best practices, operational safety, planning and strategy, cross-functional integration optimization, and working on improvements in the training of flight crews. To achieve these goals, the manager will build and lead a team that will focus on gathering internal and external data and pilot feedback and eagerly working together with many functional teams throughout Boeing, as well as with our customers and to use that information to provide the highest quality product and services.

This diverse position will manage team member efforts related to future strategy in many focus areas in which Flight Deck is involved, which will include: human factors, display formats, menus and control interfaces; display hardware; flight management systems (FMS); instrument panel layouts, crew alerting, electronic flight bag (EFB); crew personal electronic devices (PED), failure effects and analysis; navigation; communication equipment; crew procedures, crew training, human factors/cognition; and ergonomic analysis.

**Position Responsibilities**:
As a manager on the Flight Deck team, you will lead and guide a wide variety of dynamic and challenging work on strategic initiatives for both in-service and future flight decks. The role responsibilities include:

- Work closely with Flight Deck leadership to develop and execute on strategic initiatives related to all current and future BCA programs
- Leverage operational, certification and leadership experience to enable the team to make specific recommendations regarding Flight Deck improvements and changes
- Evaluate and incorporate Human Factors considerations and ensure requirements are integrated into designs through the product life cycle
- Ensure a team is in place that fosters a continuous creative and multidisciplinary approach to problem solving
- Routinely engage with other management team members in Flight Deck Design and Crew Operations to understand emerging requirements, challenges, lessons learned and historical perspectives
- Develop team to manage analysis methods for customer-reported data and feedback to ensure accurate accounting and prioritization of important input
- Engage with certification organizations and worldwide regulators to understand requirements and various proposals and rulemaking that impact Flight Deck
- Serve as a project management focal for team initiatives and engage in routine updates to the leadership team
- Build and maintain outstanding relationships with internal cross-functional stakeholders, pilots and customer flight crews in order to support future development efforts
- Promote safety, efficiency and simplicity at all times with a strong focus on customer support
- Work quickly to identify and grow a dynamic team to support these activities
- Mentor and motivate the emerging team members to accomplish individual professional and personal goals

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:

- 3+ years of experience in management or leadership role
- Experience in flight deck design and crew operations
- Experience leading projects and/or teams in a challenging, diverse engineering or operations environment
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse team in order to establish a consensus on complex technical issues
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Post-secondary education from an accredited course of study in human factors, psychology, engineering, engineering technology, aviation safety, computer science, mathematics, physics or related field of study
- Fluent in both written and verbal English
- Must be legally able to work in Brazil

**Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)**:

- Human factors engineering experience
- Experience in training as an instructor or other supporting/development role
