Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst performs variety of intra and inter function activities, and is designed to work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Property Coordinator to support and add value to the Asset & Investment Management (AIM), and also the other support functions (i.e. Legal & Compliance and Finance & Accounting), through either analytical or project based work. Working under direct supervision, this job has a focus on business and investment analytics and report preparation; including: data collection, monitoring, analysis, reporting and strategic planning across all investment entities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Performs portfolio and asset analytics across the business, including the further development and enhancements of financial models, tools of analysis and record/data management systems.
- Implements and manages the Mapping and Farm Records Management (MFRM) system, a customized GIS based asset management system to house all asset mapping and all farm records that can be managed in a spacial context.
- Utilizes analytical tools to assist the AIM team with analysis, financial due diligence, asset investment modeling for new acquisitions and dispositions, analysis of capital investment projects and annual budgets complication.
- Assists the Portfolio Manager to enhance portfolio management processes, financial models, templates and analytical procedures for use across the PPS and AIM platforms.
- Assists in the compilation of asset performance and management reporting requirements, including involvement in mid-year and year-end investment reporting, forecasts and budgets, and benchmarking.
- Performs research and analysis of key metrics for AU row (broad acre) crop investments and documentation of evidence to support particular portfolio strategies, development projects or other investment initiatives based on risk-return profile, geographic diversification, modes of asset operation, relative farmland investment value, and apparent value arbitrage.
- Undertakes research or analytical projects on behalf of, or alongside, the Portfolio Manager or at the request of the CEO as a means to investigate alternative investment options in AU agriculture (eg: wine grapes, permanent crops), niche, non-core or large scale investment opportunities (eg: infrastructure or major row crop asset transactions), or on farm capital expenditure projects (eg: grain storage, irrigation infrastructure).
