It’s not about what you have done somewhere else, it’s all about what you are capable of doing here. **The Work You'll Do**: Our Regulatory Specialists are the researchers behind the software. You would be responsible for proactively and continually monitoring compliance issues in assigned jurisdictions for all verticals and determine the impact of compliance changes on Sovos systems. By conducting this research and keeping our products current and compliant, you will make an important impact on our 7,000+ customers, which includes over half of the Fortune 500. More specifically, you will: - Research and analyze monthly new content projects and client inquiries, and provide a clear and detailed response - Determine the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on Sovos’ systems and provide detailed, timely and accurate information regarding those changes to the Tax Content Team, in order to include those changes in the Sovos systems - Demonstrate moderate proficiency in our internal tools used to maintain system and content - Demonstrate ability to explain complex tax rules in clear language - Proactively and continually monitor tax rates, form filing requirements and other compliance developments in the field of transaction tax across the US, with special emphasis on changes that would impact Sovos’ product and service offerings - Collaborate with other departments/teams (Technical Support, Client Implementation, Development, STS, etc.) on any and all applicable tax issues **What We Need From You**: - Experience with SQL a plus - Willingness to learn the complexities of the tax and regulatory landscape worldwide - Thrives in a multi-tasking environment and has a natural sense of urgency - Self-directed learner, personally accountable for your own professional development - Highly analytical, with a passion for accuracy - Highly collaborative and adaptable **How You'll Grow**: - Sovos gives you the tools to grow your career both personally and professionally:_ Did you know that over 30% of our employees experienced a promotion or job change in FY2020? That can happen because growth is serious business here at Sovos, and we have the programs in place to make sure of it, including: - Mentoring Programs - Bi-Annual performance reviews where compensation and performance are assessed and rewarded generously - Clear paths for growth within our roles (but we know that career development can be like a spider web, not a ladder - we give you the tools to move outside of your career as well) - The tools to enhance your life - because we want you to enjoy your life outside of work_ The challenge of working in an emerging market and solving complex problems for our clients is a large one. Businesses are struggling to keep up with the pace, volume, and complexity of regulatory requirements. In fact, 45% of CFOs say compliance is their "biggest growth challenge." That is why over half of the Fortune 500 counts on Sovos to solve their complex business-to-government compliance challenges. Our employees work on meaningful and engaging projects that make a tangible impact on our clients' success.
