Nature and Scope:
Reports to an HR Supervisor who heads up Human Resource Manager. Key interfaces could include senior managers of business units, who are the customers of the Principal HR Representative/Specialist and who require advice regarding long term plans for hiring, skill building, reorganizations, management assignments, communications, compensation/rewards/recognition plans.
Other assignments require the individual to work directly with senior management on strategic issues, for example, researching and advising benefit strategy, the best overall remuneration design, company wide training, and change management.
Additionally, the Principal Representative/Generalist represents the company in employee relations, mediation, arbitration, or other legal matters. Functions as the lead liaison between Caterpillar and Solar on matters in a particular area of expertise. Frequent inter-organizational and external customer and supplier contacts. Provides solutions to difficult problems associated with specific projects and business issues.
Principal Accountabilities:
- HR Business Partnership (consulting and coaching)- General HR program/policy development, administration, and compliance- Staffing and Recruiting- Employee hiring, onboarding, termination, and records maintenance- Talent and Organization Performance- Training and Development- Employee and labor relations and communications- Total Rewards program (administration)- Relocation services (domestic and international)- Immigration services- Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in related field, such as Business Administration.- 7-10 years of increasingly responsible experience in Human Resources.- A related Master's degree plus 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in Human Resource would also qualify an individual for this level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High integrity and a high level of self-confidence.- Communicate in a professional manner.- Previous related work experience with customer facing activities strongly preferred.- Pre-advanced (reading, writing, and speaking) in English.- Intermediate (reading, writing, and speaking) in Spanish will be an advantage.
