Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 4 years of experience working in a regulatory compliance discipline, including experience with regulations such as anti-money laundering/customer due diligence, customer support, internal audit, cybersecurity, accounting, risk management, Plx, and open banking. - Experience with a regulated services company. - Ability to speak and write in English fluently. Preferred qualifications: - Master's degree in financial services and/or a related technology field. - Experience with finance technology companies or consulting firms. **About the job**: The Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You'll make processes more efficient and scalable, work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations, and proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our extended workforce partners and internally, you will collaborate across the multiple areas of the Financial Operations team. The Google Payments Compliance team makes sure that our business is always operating in line with current regulations. Our team balances Google's compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As a Payments Compliance Specialist, you will lead our regulatory needs. This includes the development and enhancement of policies, reporting and licensing needs, broad oversight, and working cross-functionally with teams internally and externally. You'll also proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find good solutions. You will also play a key role in ensuring teams across Payments understand the criticality of being compliant. In addition, you will work on an extensive team of regulatory compliance leads in the financial and payments sector. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business. **Responsibilities**: - Create and modify compliance systems, policies, procedures, controls, reporting, and training to comply with regulations. Manage the compliance program, review and maintain oversight of all aspects of the compliance framework for potential enhancements, and strive to help Google achieve a control environment. - Manage corporate governance responsibilities as a regulated entity while ensuring policies, procedures, and controls are effective and reflective of current compliance obligations. - Act as an agent for change by supporting control initiatives with cross-functional partners such as Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance, and Product Management. - Monitor changes in regulations and industry best practices while assisting regional and global initiatives. - Communicate with regulators, associations, and market stakeholders to advocate for a health market for our products and services.
