**About the Role**:
The Purchasing Specialist will ensure alignment and support to achieve business goals and objectives and alignment, collaboration and wiring with Category Management, Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics teams. The position will be accountable to execute initiatives to achieve Purchasing Saving Plan for operation and ensure that all needs are fulfilled by centralized Regional purchasing team or Global purchasing team.
- Assist Superintendent in resolving complex purchasing issues and associated regular and ad-hoc reporting activities to manage service delivery performance.- Complete/participate in project work as required from Global/ Regional initiatives.
- Collaborate with Supply to continuously update and improve procedures and QRG documentation for the Team.
- Partnering with maintenance and operational personnel, vendors and Supply sub function team members (including Regional and Global Purchasing team members).
- Proactive Vendor´s Performance Management.
- Management of urgent procurement, payments and escalations.
- Sourcing of non-contract service orders, including RFQ process, Purchase Order issuance and savings delivery
- Participating and supporting activities so that Supply team delivers its Business Plan, Function/ Sub-function and Global KPI requirements.
- Monitoring and escalating service tickets as required.
- Based on regular analysis of KPI data, workload metrics and other inputs, lead projects to reduce workload (i.e. increase efficiency of process) in the team or improve its effectiveness (i.e. quality of orders, savings on orders, or improved safety outcomes).
- Management of the status of active Purchase Orders and perform other tasks related to customers/vendors queries.
- Provide expert advice to other members of team in respect of all Purchasing processes and procedures (regardless the location of the team members).

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
**Qualifications**:

- Professional degree in Business Administration or associated discipline required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced proficiency in Portuguese and English. Advanced Spanish (Desirable).
- 8+ years of experience working within Purchasing and Supply teams in the resource (or related) industry in a SAP environment or similar ERP system.
- Experience working with SAP ERP MM
- Experience in mining companies (desirable).
