**Responsibilities**:
**A oportunidade**

Development and execution of packaging projects aligned with our Innovation, Brand Stewardship, Revenue Management, Productivity, and Portfolio Transformation agendas, with a focus on both local and regional priorities. These initiatives are based on our global pep+ guidelines and local regulations. The role also involves providing technical support and guidance to all areas involved in the process—from idea generation to project implementation.

The R&D Packaging Analyst supports the Packaging Manager in medium to high-complexity packaging projects across South America's Operating Units within PepsiCo's Foods Division, covering more than 10 countries.

Additionally, this professional will be responsible for managing packaging specifications, approving new materials, and ensuring the seamless lift-and-adapt or shift of technologies from the global packaging team to countries throughout the region.

- Development of Specifications, Procedures, and Processes for raw materials and new products.
- Ability to provide guidance and make material decisions for projects
- Development of Technical Solutions for raw materials and finished products to comply with pep+ and Local Regulations.
- Responsible of development and launch of new materials, equipment and/or line extensions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of calculations, material functionality and manufacturing unit operations as it relates to package design and development
- Ability to direct others in operation of equipment to deliver project goals
- Working knowledge of multiple equipment platforms utilized in snack food packaging and how to design/develop packaging solutions appropriate for each platform (VFFS, HFFS, Bag in box, etc.)
- Possess understanding of all packaging unit operation in typical production line
- Know and understand key operating settings for packaging equipment
- Ability to analyze packages and determine what equipment it was manufactured on
- Ability troubleshoot equipment issues by analyzing packages
- Understand the impact packaging line speed and efficiency have on production capacity
- Ability to make material choices based on equipment limitations
- Understanding of cost of various equipment solutions and provide guidance to stakeholders
- Effectively leverages/involves key business resources to optimize project results
- Understand various packaging component costs and associated capital and expenses
- Ability to execute packaging projects within timeline constraints
- Effectively represent Packaging R&D in resolving complex, cross-functional business issues
- Translate business needs into actionable projects and define project goals
- Understands the impact of packaging cost levers on project viability and uses sensitivity analysis to highlight areas of potential risk
- Understanding of key financial metrics used to evaluate projects (CAGR, velocity, margin, incrementality, etc.)
- Ability to make technical adjustments to testing protocols and parameters based on region capability or to test for unique variables
- Leverage testing data to identify quality improvements, cost reductions, new product ideas and troubleshoot complex packaging problems
- Ability to understand when line trials are required, how to schedule and execute, and how to direct others that may need to be involved in the trial at both PepsiCo owned and third party manufacturers
- packaging representative/lead for plant testing for a project in development or commercialization
- Ability to influence and direct plant resources (where appropriate) to accomplish R&D testing goals
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environment and adjust protocol or resources accordingly to drive results
- Ability to coordinate with vendors and suppliers that may be attending trials on behalf of PepsiCo R&D such that they are prepared to execute and support as required per project needs
