In a practice that is growing globally, you will be part of Hatch’s global Community Engagement and Social Performance practice that collaborates with clients, communities, stakeholders, and Hatch’s engineering teams to create mutually beneficial and sustainable metals, energy, and infrastructure projects. Hatch is currently seeking a Director, Community Engagement and Social Performance - South America that will be pivotal to the growing a regional function of a global practice. As the Director, Community Engagement and Social Performance - South America, you will be a member of the global leadership team and cross collaborate with colleagues from different regions around the world. This role reports to the Global Director, Community Engagement and Social Performance. In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Overseeing and holding the accountability for the expansion of Hatch’s regional Community and Social Performance practice in South America - namely Chile, Peru, and Brazil
- Managing and growing a team of community engagement and social performance practitioners and ensuring high quality deliverables to mining, energy, and infrastructure clients
- Work with senior leaders to help grow the revenue and profit of our existing Community Engagement and Social Performance consulting practice in collaboration with Hatch’s Environmental Services Group (ESG)
- Focusing on business development activities and identifying new opportunities with clients
- Supporting the training and development of team members that hold a direct reporting relationship
- Participating as an active member on Hatch’s South American leadership team, ensuring that Hatch South America is aligned to the Global Indigenous Peoples Policy
- Develop innovative solutions for our clients on engagement for a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to: Indigenous groups, communities, academia, non-governmental organizations, government, media
- Project management and coordination of our clients’ projects
- Share your experiences with colleagues and clients at speaking events, networking events, conferences, webinars and through online blog posts

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 15-20 years’ experience in community and stakeholder engagement or communications
- Post-secondary education in communications, conflict management, environmental science, sustainability, or law
- Experience managing a team and proven ability to work collaboratively with global functions
- Strong understanding of the history and culture of Indigenous groups
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, project execution and client engagement experience
- Creative and approachable with a willingness recommend innovative solutions with clients
- Well-versed permitting and approvals and regulatory requirements
- Broad understanding of international best practices such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards, Equator Principles, Convention 169, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
- Experience working on major projects in a stakeholder engagement capacity
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as work requires
- Effective, open communication and presentation style with the ability to plan and deliver best in class, high quality client deliverables
