Product Manager

Shape is a startup that was created from the industry, for the industry. Our mission is to rethink operations of industrial assets for the digital age, making them more efficient, more transparent, and safer. A core part of this transformation is to optimize and automate how people make decisions.

With the advent of the Internet of Things, workers in the industrial sector started having access to a huge amount of data. However, most still do not have the tools to make good use of it: going from data to insight, and from insight to action is a time-consuming and error-prone process. Our Machine Learning-enabled products exist to address these gaps.

In particular, we are hiring someone who will lead the development of Shape Aura, our product for greenhouse gases emissions reduction and energy efficiency optimization. This is a product that exists at the intersection of first-principles process simulation and AI, delivering value through an objective and non-obstructive experience for industrial operations teams.

This person will work in a hybrid model (2 days per week at the office), based in either São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, depending on their preference.

**You will**:

- Define the long-term product vision, objectives, success metrics, and strategy for one or more of Shape's digital products.
- Interact with clients to collect feedback and iterate the product's value proposition.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Design colleagues to identify opportunities, and then prototype and validate solutions with users.
- Define quarterly goals and support your peer in Engineering to write concrete delivery plans for them.
- Manage the prioritization of deliveries, making sure that it is always updated in the face of new information (e.g., client feedback, execution bottlenecks).
- Work with the Growth team to continuously refine the positioning, sales pitch, and the go-to-market and pricing strategies for your product.
- Collaborate with other product leaders to build a coherent product offering for Shape that serves clients across multiple user personas and problems.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about short
- and long-term goals, and progress.
- Help Shape hire and develop our team of product analysts and managers, and continuously evolve our product management function.

**We're looking for someone who**:

- Is analytical and used to make decisions based on strong evidence.
- Has a strong track record of shipping software, either as an individual contributor or a manager.
- Can hold their own when interacting with people from technical roles: you should be able to ask the right questions and make solid decisions based on what they tell you.
- Has sharp communication skills in oral and written forms. You will need to interact with both internal and external stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Can think strategically and long-term, but also enjoys digging into the details of how our clients' businesses work.
- Is results-oriented, not task-oriented.
- Fosters an open and non-hierarchical work environment.
- Experience in Product Manager in a tech company. Bonus points If you have experience with a data product and/or B2B SaaS.
- Has experience working in multidisciplinary agile product teams with flat hierarchical structures.

**Nice-to-haves**

Though not a strict requirement, past experience working in any of the technical disciplines related to our products is a plus:

- Background in engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, or similar). The problems we solve are related to industrial operations & maintenance, so this kind of prior knowledge will give you a head start in understanding our clients' pain points and potential solutions.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, and scaling the use of Machine Learning / AI solutions to drive business impact. Experience as a Data Scientist would be a great asset for this position given the technical nature of the products you will lead. Past experience in software development or QA background.
