**About the job**:

- The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join us in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In this role, you will implement controls and evaluate actions required for compliance with the company’s revenue recognition accounting process, including the bookings and billings process. You’ll perform regular and special analyses, e.g., reviews of organizational billing practices, to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition. You’ll analyze third-party payments and verify compliance with contractual terms, fee schedules, or other formal agreements. You will complete all required month-end close activities, including revenue reconciliation and management reporting. You may work with Legal and Sales associates in reviewing revenue contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and to resolve any revenue issues. As a Revenue Accountant, you will follow control procedures and interact with audit or other functions in the approval of product discount pricing, vendor-specific objective evidence studies, and significance analyses to ensure compliance with company policy and proper revenue recording. You may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat’s policies and applicable privacy laws.**What you will do**:

- Regularly meet with the Services team on operational matters and identify pain issues in current process and lead improvement
- Comply with Red Hat’s accounting and operational practices and conform to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Oversee operations for the monthly accounting cycle, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting and disclosures
- Support the daily financial operations for the Latin America (LATAM) Finance team by interacting with services operations, project managers, and consultants
- Provide ongoing daily support to the project accounting team and learning services team and stakeholders by responding to questions, managing relationships, providing best practices, and troubleshooting issues
- Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including reconciliation
- Partner closely with the Sales, Services, and Services Operations teams in the running of the daily operations and ensuring compliance with policies and controls
- Support effective implementation of controls through timely monitoring
- Engage with internal and external audit teams to support the quarterly review and annual audit activities

**What you will bring**:

- 3+ years of relevant experience working in multinational corporations (MNCs)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, accounting, or finance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under given time constraints and deadlines
- Stakeholder customer management skills, both internally and externally
- Solid analytical abilities with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a cross-functional team
- Experience with Oracle or RevStream is a plus
