**Organizational Setting**

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

**Reporting Lines**

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil - Programme.

**Technical Focus**

The incumbent will focus on monitoring and mapping permanent and open markets across Brazil, developing methodologies to support SEAB/MDA monitoring processes, designing marketing strategies for urban and peri-urban farmers and their organizations, and contributing to the improvement of public policies on short food supply circuits. The work aims to strengthen family farming, agrarian reform settlers, traditional peoples, and local communities by promoting inclusive and sustainable commercialization channels.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Technical participation in initial and periodic alignment meetings with the SEAB/MDA team, ensuring the strategic alignment of the incumbent´s work;
- Survey of information on permanent fairs and open fairs throughout the national territory;
- Technical preparation and presentation of SEAB/MDA monitoring methodology with the Federal Superintendencies of Agrarian Development;
- Conducting studies for the development of marketing proposals for urban and peri-urban farmers, as well as their economic organizations and enterprises;
- Preparation of the products provided for under this assignment, ensuring compliance with the stipulated stages and deadlines;
- Technical participation in meetings related to the execution of the consultancy, collaborating for the alignment and effectiveness of the processes throughout the contract.

**CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING**:
**Minimum Requirements**
- University Degree in Human Sciences or Agricultural Sciences
- Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;
- National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit

**Technical/Functional Skills**
- Experience in studies and reports on permanent fairs and open markets and marketing for urban and peri-urban farmers;
