Department Overview Be part of the Vigilant System Solutions team, as a Cross-Platform Mobile Tech Lead / Architect. Designing and developing Android and iOS apps, you will be a key member of our software organization. Our products allow customers to respond effectively in mission-critical operating environments and we’re looking for world-class engineers interested in building software and systems that truly make a difference.

This job position is for entirely reshaping and creating a modernized version of the Vigilant Mobile Companion LPR App.

It’s an excellent opportunity to join a small team with a critical skill set. You will directly contribute to the full lifecycle of the product.
**Job Description**:
Determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software.
Develop high-level product specifications with attention to systems integration.

**Define all aspects of development**: appropriate technology, workflows, coding standards.
Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to the development team.
Oversee development progress to ensure consistency with initial design.
Provide technical guidance and coaching to other developers and engineers.
Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, extensibility.
Lead code review sessions.
Approve final product before launch.
Work closely with product management to plan and design new products and features.
Release high quality software to our customers for their mission-critical public safety and security systems through working on a cross-disciplinary team with UXs, QAs and POs.
Write unit tests, automated UI tests and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the product.
Integrate with backend services to deliver a secure, fast and scalable mobile user experience.
Follow standard coding practices.
Identify, propose and implement best-fit solutions for complex scenarios.
Assure a high standard of quality in your own work and peers on your team via process improvements, clean designs, smart testing and review practices.
Collaborate with other team members in an agile environment.
Research new technologies and contribute with innovation initiatives, for example using embedded AI in mobile devices.
Collaborate with other mobile teams.
Basic Requirements
Proven experience as a SW Architect.
Experience in coding in various programming languages.
Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design.
Understanding of software quality assurance principles.
High quality organizational and leadership skills.
Outstanding presentation abilities.
Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Advanced English level. Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Technical mindset with great attention to detail.
Excellent problem solving skills and positive attitude.
Receptive to instruction and direction.
8+ years of experience in SW Development.
5+ years of experience building native or cross-platform apps for Android and iOS.
Proficient in Flutter (preferred).
Significant experience with a range of the following core technologies: Swift, Kotlin, Dart, C++, Angular.
Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale mobile app solutions.
Experience developing responsive design websites.
Experience with OOP design principles.
Thorough knowledge of mobile app deployment.
Familiarity with modern mobile and frontend build pipelines and tools.
Experience in building efficient user interfaces to a specification.
Use of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Write and maintain unit tests and environment configuration.
Experience with Jira and Scrum agile methodology (preferred).
