Sr. DevOps Consultant, Global Competency Center

Bachelor Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience as a technical specialist.
- 2+ years of strong hands-on experience of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java,.Net, C++ or similar object oriented language.
- Hands-on experience envisioning and architecting cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese.

Job summary

The Sr. DevOps Consultant is a leader with significant automation and programming experience throughout the SDLC, servicing multiple teams or organizations. The Sr. DevOps Consultant will lead our enterprise customers through large organizational and SDLC transformations. A successful DevOps practitioner has technical depth across the full DevOps spectrum along with leading and evangelizing transformations, and driving innovations.

Key job responsibilities

Employ customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, standard methodologies, project management and risk mitigation

Work closely with AWS Platform Service Engineering and Architecture teams to help ensure the success of project consulting engagements with customer

Work directly with customers’ technical resources to devise and recommend solutions based on the understood requirements

Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment

Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems

- Own the quality of DevOps architecture and design.
- Contribute intellectual property through patent generation.
- Lead and contribute to define industry standards and AWS DevOps offerings.
- Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
- Fully and completely understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.
- Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the Amazon developer community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Lead technical and design discussions with Executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices.
- Serve as a thought leader and SME for DevOps industry trends, new and existing technology offerings, and architectural concepts.
- Advise on implementing AWS best practices and provide architectural governance.

- Experience with CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments.
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewall.
- Experience with monitoring and log aggregating frameworks.
- Experience with development and automated testing.
- Understanding of cloud native security requirements.
- Experience leading the certification or accreditation of cloud workload(s) to meet industry standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST/DoD frameworks.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organizations and engagements.
