Area Product Owner

**SUMMARY**

As Area Product Owner for SAP Document and Reporting Compliance you will shape the future development of SAP’s standard offering for compliance with electronic business documents and statutory reporting. You will contribute to the global success of SAP by defining and driving development topics, a joint vision and the future strategy of a product family including ABAP and cloud-native solutions.

**THE ROLE**

You will work with a diverse team of product experts, architects, and engineering teams to shape the big picture as well as the individual product characteristics for your area of responsibility. You will be responsible for the product roadmap for multiple teams, the clarification of product and project dependencies, and the prioritization of the development backlog.

We expect you to establish a close relationship with internal and external stakeholders to define and rank the overall product priorities based on their requirements, customer feedback, overall product strategy, and cloud technology developments. You will act as central point of contact between the stakeholders (across units) and the customers, translating business needs into technology and vice versa.

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, business informatics, mathematics, engineering, physics, or related area
- Experience driving elements of the product development lifecycle (e.g., product vision, go-to-market strategy, driving requirements, and product launch).
- Experience with designing and developing to guide a team of developers
- Experience working with technology and business stakeholders in a cross-organizational setup
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with a positive mindset

The following skills would provide an advantage:

- Good knowledge of SAP’s solution portfolio
- Experience managing (junior) PM/POs and engineers
- Experience with Java, ABAP and/or Kubernetes is a plus
- Strong intercultural skills

**Work Experience**
- Solid experience in software development
- Solid experience as Product Owner or Area Product Owner with technical products in agile development environment
