**Government Relation Advisor**

**What’s the role?**

Government Relations (GR) is a team of government relations professionals reporting to the EVP Corporate Relations, who in turn reports to the newly created position of Strategy, Sustainability and Corporate Relations Director. GR’s mission is to support Shell’s business success, creating and delivering optimal business value and distinguishing Shell from competitors in the view of governments. GR delivers this by understanding government needs and policies and by ensuring that the company’s geographical perspective is balanced against business and functional strategies in line with the overall objectives of the Group. Support the Country Chair/businesses/functions in country on Government Relations efforts in representing Shell's interests to the Government and regulators that have an interest in, and potential impact on, Shell's domestic and international businesses on the short and long-term business environment.

The Advisor is expected to develop understanding of regional /country business, geopolitical trends and key decision makers/influencers, as well as an understanding of the key drivers for Shell Group success. The GR Head of Office will guide the Adviser on resolution of difficult political or governance issues and the Adviser is expected to possess judgment to identify key issues that require consultation.

As a Government Relation Advisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
