**Duties**:

- Serves as a Special-Agent?in-Charge (SAIC) assigned to a Force Protection Detachment (FPD) where the US Army is considered to be the executive agent.
- Detects and warns of threats to Department of Defense (DoD) personnel (military, civilian and dependents) and resources in-transit at overseas locations without a permanent DoD Counterintelligence (CI) presence.
- Serves as a force multiplier for the US Embassy Country Team in support of the DoD presence and mission.
- Plans and supervises the activities of a diverse, combined military and civilian work force.

**Requirements**:
**Conditions of Employment**:

- This is a language required position. Must have at least a 2/2 Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLTP) score in the Portuguese Brazilian (PQ) Language.
- Must be able to maintain proficiency annually. DA Civilians must complete the listening and reading tests within 30 days in order to qualify for the Foreign Language Proficiency Bonus Program.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must sign and comply with the provisions of a mobility (rotation) agreement. Mobility may include unaccompanied tours.
- Must successfully complete all required certification courses and training for the discipline, position, and grade as directed by the CG, INSCOM, the MICECP Program Manager or otherwise established in the Program Manager Guide.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service(GG/GS-13), and is defined as: Conducting liaison and complex Counterintelligence (CI) collection missions to obtain relevant intelligence and force protection information for dissemination to appropriate authorities; traveling to locations within areas of responsibility to collect information concerning potential threats, perform route reconnaissance and develop travel, threat, and/or vulnerability assessments; developing detailed and informative reports upon completion of each operational activity to facilitate efficient information exchange, determination of appropriate actions and final decision by senior-level officials; and, planning for, and making changes in, the organization of work in order to achieve efficient and economical operations within allowable budget, staffing levels, and policies established by higher organizational levels.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
