**Location: Surrey Hourly Rate: $30.44**
**Hours: 5 hours/week Posting # 25-AM-103**
**Schedule: Wednesday - 12:00 to 17:00 Closing Date: Until filled**
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a charitable organization that supports women,
girls, and children at risk, involved in or affected by the justice system. Our programs work to break the
cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and crime.
**We are recruiting for an Expressive Arts Facilitator for our A’mut program.**A’mut is a specialized
residential program for Aboriginal girls who are considered at risk and are struggling with addiction. The
philosophy is one of self-direction and independence, with individual treatment and goal planning
focusing on developing a variety of coping skills and self-reliance.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develops group expressive arts programs based on the case plan.
- Manages inventory for the expressive arts program.
- Assists with data collection, projects, reports, and other tasks as assigned.
- Documents session details using nucleus notes.
- Provides detailed client reports, maintains accurate records, and ensures confidentiality.
- Attends staff training and relevant public events; may participate in prevention activities.
- Performs other related duties as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Certification or diploma in expressive therapies (Art, Music, Dance Movement) or related field
(e.g., recreational therapy).
- 1-3 years of experience with individuals with substance misuse preferred.
- Experience in community social services and knowledge of community-based programs and
- support services is a plus.
- Skilled in facilitating groups and individuals.
- Knowledgeable in using multimedia and expressive arts for therapy.
- Aware of how age, socioeconomic, and cultural factors affect clients and able to work
- respectfully in a diverse environment.
- Understanding of Indigenous culture and its impact on substance use, trauma, and justice
- issues.
- Capable of redirecting clients and setting clear limits on inappropriate behavior.
**MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
- Evidence of a Tuberculosis Test and compliance with the TB Control Program.
- Doctor’s Note of fitness required.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Review (Vulnerable Sector Search)
- **Valid driver’s license (Class 5) with satisfactory driving record.**
