Overview:
We are looking to add a Research & Development (R&D) Hardware Developer to our team in Curitiba.

Responsibilities:
- Takes technical responsibility for stages of the life cycle for Hardware (HW) and/or Firmware (FW) and/or Loadware (LW) development of simple and moderately complex systems and components; covering engineering; concept proposals; develop and design HW and low-level software components; investigation; analysis; specification; layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs); construction; testing; implementation and maintenance.- Undertakes all work in accordance with required technical and quality standards, selecting and using appropriate methods, materials and tools in order to achieve well-engineered products which exhibit the necessary attributes such as fitness for purpose, reliability, efficiency, security, safety, maintainability, quality and cost effectiveness.- Documents all work using appropriate standards, methods and tools, including prototyping where appropriate.- Arranges, prepares, takes part in meetings/workshops and presents issues and solutions both orally and in writing, demonstrates good communication skills.- Prepares, or contributes to, project and quality plans taking account of the requirements for functionality versus the constraints of time, cost and quality.- Gives technical leadership to small-scale project, planning, estimating, controlling and reporting on work performed accurately and effectively in order to achieve targets.- Acts on HW, FW, and LW development from scratch and based on existing circuits, design analog and digital circuits respecting applicable global standards (EMC, safety, thermal, mechanical, environmental, protocols, specific agencies approval requirements), design for programmable devices (FPGA, field-programmable gate array), design software for DSP (Digital Signal Processor), design or use software for automation testing, product technical specification, technical documentation, compliance measurements, PCB layout, prototyping, component engineering, and product correction based on problems reported by customers.

Requirements:
- Systems Engineer, Electric, Electronic, or similar.- At least intermediate English level.- A team player with the ability to communicate well with team, management, and customers.- Proficient in Hardware/Firmware/Loadware Development Tools:
Hardware tools or equipment which automate or assist part of the development process.- Proficient in most of Hardware/Firmware/Loadware Development Methods, Languages, Protocols, Techniques and Standards:
Waterfall and Agile Development; Organized and documented sets of techniques, intended to facilitate the structured development of hardware/firmware/loadware.
Analog and digital Hardware design, Assembly; C/C++ embedded software; PCB CAD, VHDL, Verilog; TCP/IP network protocols; Microcontroller peripherals (USB, SPI, I2C, ); Hardware troubleshooting techniques; Hardware measurement and instrumentation; Software debugging techniques; Telecommunication protocols; Linux software/driver development; Real-time operating systems; Digital Signal Processing; Wireless technologies (DECT, 5G); Efficient power supply design; Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC); Internet of Things (IoT).- Proficient in Information Modelling:
Tools and techniques (manual or automated) which can be used to document an understanding of the structure, relationships, and use of information within an organization.- Configuration Management knowledge:
- Proficient in Corporate, Industry and Professional Standards: Standards associated with the practitioner's current Role. Examples: PCBs, materials, radiofrequency, acoustic, communication protocols stacks, embedded systems Operating Systems, safety/vulnerability standards, departmental programming standards, performance standards, help desk procedures, corporate quality and change management processes.- Familiar with Business Analysis Techniques:
Techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation.
Examples: functional business models, statistical process control, relational data modelling, use case.- Familiar with Presentation Techniques:
Tools, methods and techniques for delivering effective presentations.- Familiar with Business Proposals:
Methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases, invitations to tender and statements of requirements both orally and in writing.- Familiar with Quality Management:
The system or method for the management of quality within the employing organization. Familiar with Report Writing Techniques Methods, quality control analysis and techniques for writing effective reports.
