About the job:
The Red Hat Strategic Customer Engagement team is looking for an experienced, enterprise-level Java software engineer to join us as a Technical Account Manager in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In this role, you'll provide architectural guidance and implementation advice to customers for the Red Hat Application Services portfolio of solutions. You'll provide a premium level of support that builds, maintains, and grows long-lasting customer loyalty by understanding IT infrastructures, internal processes, and business needs, facilitating collaboration with their other vendors, and advocating on the customers' behalf.

What you will do:

- Develop relationships with key business and IT stakeholders and become an expert on customer implementations by understanding their top business goals and priorities
- Perform technical reviews and share knowledge to proactively identify and prevent issues
- Forewarn customers of technology changes or potential disruptions to their service and advise them on mitigation strategies
- Provide advice and guidance to customers about their current and future Red Hat’s offerings
- Troubleshoot technical issues and guide issue escalation with Red Hat and customer teams
- Complete analysis and present periodic reviews of operational performance to customer leadership
- Perform technical reviews and share knowledge to proactively identify and prevent issues
- Gain an understanding of customers' technical infrastructure, hardware, and products
- Partner closely with Red Hat’s Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support teams to debug, test, and resolve issues
- Perform initial or secondary investigation and respond to online and phone support requests
- Deliver key Red Hat Application Services portfolio roadmap updates and assist customers with product upgrades
- Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation
- Serve as the customer advocate within Red Hat
- Travel regionally to visit customers on occasion, following Red Hat’s COVID-19 guidelines

What you will bring:

- 5+ years of professional Java coding and development experience
- Practical experience with Java middleware technologies like Red Hat JBoss EAP, Red Hat Fuse, WebSphere, and WebLogic
- Direct experience with messaging and streaming platforms
- Experience in a support, development, engineering, or quality assurance organization
- Ability to take ownership of issues while maintaining a high level of detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to manage and grow existing enterprise customer and partner relationships by delivering high-quality support
- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline, preferably computer science or engineering
- Experience with business logic and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud solutions is a big plus
- Knowledge of JEE platform and experience working on large-scale enterprise Java projects is a plus
