Lert Specialist

**About the Role**:
The Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) LATAM, is part of the Global Public Safety team. The team handles legal requests for user data from police, judiciary and Public Health Authorities (PHAs) around the globe. These often involve emergency circumstances that require an immediate response. Every request is unique and must be checked for legal compliance prior to conducting exhaustive research within Uber’s databases while managing user privacy.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic to join our team of Public Safety Specialists to process law enforcement and PHA requests. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent judgment, prioritize effectively, work collaboratively while under pressure; as well as communicate effectively with external and internal partners.

**What You'll Do**:

- Adhere to global and local privacy laws alongside Uber’s policies when responding to data requests from law enforcement and PHOs within defined SLAs.
- Protect the privacy of our users’ data through robust analysis of all requests against our stringent legal and ethical requirements.
- Identify, call out and respond to emergencies effectively and within allotted SLAs.
- Effective manage internal and external partners through clear, concise, and rational communication.
- Be flexible and prepared to cover weekend duties and public holidays, as necessary.
- Contribute to process improvement of procedures and new features/products to reinforce the data protection of our users.

**What You'll Need**:

- Experience working on a LERT team.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and conversational English and Spanish. Portuguese language skill is a plus.
- Identify trends and communicate such to the Public Safety leadership team.
- Confidence interacting with law enforcement and/or other government officials in a calm, professional manner in a frequently high-pressure and rapidly evolving environment.
- Legal or investigative experience is a plus.
- Able to work independently with sound judgment.
- Skilled in various Uber data tools, technology, and software. Willingness to enhance and develop technical skills to more complex systems
