Rental Lead

Position Summary

As a rental staff lead in the rental department, you are responsible for helping lead and train our rental team to have excellent guest service skills and product knowledge. You will need to lead by example, have a hard work ethic, and have excellent communication skills while working with both guests and co-workers. This role requires you to be a key holder to open and close as needed, be on our drivers' list to move rental products to and from our different rental locations, and ensure all daily tasks are being completed. This is an inside and outside job. It will be necessary for you to assist and direct with moving ski racks, shoveling, and opening/closing the point of sale system. You may be scheduled at any of our locations on any given day.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities- Have advanced product knowledge of rental equipment as well as ski and ride lessons.- Understand all procedures for the point-of-sale system, including opening and closing the register.- Be a key holder and assist with opening and closing daily.- Obtain the driver's list to assist with moving rental equipment to and from all of our locations.- Practice and lead safe operating procedures while using all equipment, tools, and machines.- Set up guests with rental equipment accurately and safely every time while ensuring others do too.- Assist in all training aspects of the rental shop as needed.- Properly scan out all equipment to guests for every rental transaction and lead others through the same process.- Lead with all rental gear being checked back in correctly during our return process.- Make sure every guest has their foot measured for proper fitting of ski and snowboard boots, and work with co-workers with training on best boot fitting practices as a whole.- Assist guests in putting our rental ski or snowboard boots on at our fitting stations and stress the importance of this with co-workers.- Must obtain excellent knowledge of the mountain, including but not limited to: lodges, lifts, terrain, and operating schedules.- Keep the work area clean and organized, and promote this with others.- Assist and lead with ski binding testing as needed.- Help with any rental gear repairs as needed.- Must be able to self-manage and lead co-workers with teamwork on daily projects such as gear waxing.- Aid valet specialist in ensuring all overnight storage and valet guests are helped as needed.- Must obtain ski binding certification from Amer Sports after training.- Help tune shop staff if requested with basic waxing tasks.- Assist the manager and supervisor as needed with leading all opening, closing, and daily tasks as needed.- This is an indoor/outdoor job that requires long periods of exposure to the elements as well as prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.- Other tasks as assigned

Secondary Function

Assist other stations in the Rental shop. Assist in snow removal (shoveling) of the Rental shop’s designated areas. Assist in day/overnight storage of ski equipment/ and or weekend and holiday outside ski check attending. Assist in moving ski racks onto the snow in the morning and replacing them at the end of the day. Assist in housekeeping of work areas - clean and vacuum as needed. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Mt. Bachelor Rental Shop is the largest in Central Oregon. The team works together in a very fast-paced atmosphere. Our staff is required to be knowledgeable and professional. Our staff must be passionate about the sport and willing to use their knowledge to assist our guests in selecting the products (rentals, lessons, lift tickets) that best fit their needs.
