What are we looking for?

This role combines deep technical expertise in Oracle with modern AWS cloud capabilities, and requires strong leadership to guide a team in delivering mission-critical data initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data models, and integration solutions.
  • Oversee and optimize Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Design and implement data solutions leveraging AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, and Lambda.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and analysts to understand requirements and deliver robust, business-ready data solutions.
  • Define and enforce data engineering best practices, including data governance, security, and quality standards.
  • Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, reviewing code and providing technical leadership.
  • Stay current on emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to architecture and processes.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of data engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle databases (design, development, performance tuning).
  • Solid experience with AWS data services and cloud-based data architectures.
  • Proven experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and SQL optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, governance, and security best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing or mentoring technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming languages used in data engineering.
