Job Purpose:
The Network Technician (Entry Level) is responsible for supporting the Service Desk team by managing, troubleshooting, and resolving network-related tickets.
This role involves troubleshooting connectivity issues, assisting with configuration changes, and handling service requests for network equipment.
The technician will work closely with senior network engineers to ensure reliable and secure network operations across multiple technologies and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor, manage, and resolve network-related service desk tickets in a timely manner.
• Provide first-level troubleshooting for network connectivity, Wi-Fi, firewall, and switch issues.
• Assist with basic configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Fortinet and Aruba network devices.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers following established procedures.
• Document network issues, resolutions, and configuration changes accurately in the ticketing system.
• Support network monitoring tools and respond to alerts as needed.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and network upgrade activities when required.
Education & Certifications:
• Technical training (Level 5, CET/CTESP equivalent)
• Preferred certifications (not mandatory for entry level):
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
o CompTIA a+ Network.
o Fortinet NSE 1–3.
o Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA), Aruba Certified ClearPass Associated (ACCA) or Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA).
Technical Skills:
• Understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and routing fundamentals.
• Familiarity with VLANs, trunking, and Layer 2/3 switching concepts.
• Knowledge of firewall concepts, VPNs, and security policies.
• Knowledge of wireless networking fundamentals.
• Ability to analyze and interpret network connectivity issues using common diagnostic tools (ping, traceroute, etc.).
