About This Role

We're looking for a Head of Embedded Systems to lead the entire embedded systems team — spanning both firmware and electrical engineering disciplines. You'll design and architect complex embedded systems, build world-class engineering teams, and drive technical innovation that defines the future of hardware development tools.

Your expertise across both firmware and hardware domains enables true system-level decision-making that optimizes across all disciplines.

Main Responsibilities

• Drive system-level architecture and technical strategy across firmware and electrical engineering
• Hire, mentor, and develop cross-disciplinary teams of firmware and hardware engineers
• Set the technical roadmap and define best practices for embedded development
• Architect advanced solutions
• integrating firmware and hardware that push boundaries

• Lead technical discussions with major clients on embedded requirements and trade-offs

• Research, evaluate, and implement next-generation embedded technologies

• Balance resources and priorities across multiple embedded projects
• Build a culture of technical excellence, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration

Requirements

• 8+ years of embedded systems experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership and team management
• Expert in firmware development (C/C++) and core electrical engineering principles
• Proven experience leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams
• Deep understanding of firmware–hardware integration and system-level design
• Advanced knowledge of embedded architectures, real-time systems, and communication protocols
• Ability to design, review, and optimize complex electronic schematics and firmware systems.
• Experience with microcontroller programming (ESP32, nRF5x, STM32) and hardware design principles
• Skilled at mentoring engineers across firmware and hardware
• Understanding of PCB design and hardware validation processes
• Familiar with Git, Python scripting, CI/CD, and modern development workflows
• Able to communicate effectively in English, including with executives and clients
• Strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical depth and business goals

Preferred

• Experience leading embedded teams in test equipment or instrumentation domains
• Background in power optimization, advanced debugging, and system validation
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and production scaling
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and international embedded standards
• Experience with advanced simulation tools and embedded system design automation
• Able to push technical boundaries while delivering on tight timelines
• Enthusiasm for mentoring engineers and building strong, high-performance teams
