ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Staff Frontend Engineer who is passionate about driving technical excellence, fostering collaboration, and shaping the future of the frontend discipline at VTEX. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and evolving our frontend stack while also playing a key part in structuring and scaling the Frontend Chapter across teams.
You'll help build complex, high-impact applications that power our storefront experience, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and developer experience. Your technical decisions will directly influence major projects such as our new storefront (FastStore), initiatives involving AI-powered admin experiences, and other strategic areas of the product.
Beyond the technical challenges, we're looking for someone who wants to lead a movement — someone who leads by example. You will mobilize engineers, influence product and design teams, and contribute to building clear career paths within the frontend discipline. This role requires a strong mix of technical depth, leadership, and a genuine drive to elevate the practice of frontend engineering across the company.
WHO YOU ARE
- Strong background with and React;
- Hands-on experience building complex frontend applications;
- Strong background leading a frontend chapter or equivalent, making key decisions that shaped the discipline;
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture;
- Experience with CI/CD processes, A/B testing, and rendering strategies;
- Knowledge of caching mechanisms and CDN usage;
- Knowledge of frontend observability.
- You are hands-on and curious about AI, using LLMs, automation, and design/dev tools to boost speed, quality, and clarity in your workflow, while staying thoughtful about their limitations, safety, and responsible use.
