Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to building high-quality, Pinner-facing features for the backend app. You will collaborate closely with design, product, and client teams, owning features from concept to launch, and ensuring they meet rigorous technical and quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop Pinner-facing features in the backend app, participating in all phases of the product lifecycle — from requirements gathering to implementation, A/B testing, and launch validation.
- Collaborate with design, product, and client teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
- Implement automated testing to ensure a high degree of technical quality and maintainability.
- Take ownership of the components and features you develop.
- Work on varied, high-impact projects alongside world-class peers to continuously grow your engineering skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of backend development principles and best practices for consumer or business-facing products.
- Proficiency in backend technologies such as
Python
or
Java
, with experience in RESTful APIs, storage systems, caching, and data processing. - Proven track record of writing reliable, maintainable code used by other engineers over extended periods.
- Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to ongoing and future projects.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
