What you'll do

We are looking for a Senior Pre Sales Engineer to play a pivotal role in growing and supporting Viasat business in Latin America and Europe for our customers on wholesale, enterprise and government markets. The right candidate will be energetic, articulate, and have a proven background in understanding customer requirements and turning those requirements into fully defined and operational solutions, as well as providing advice for solution improvement and customer success.

This is a hybrid role based in Brazil; 3 days a week required in the office, 2 days working remotely.

The day-to-day
  • Design end-to-end technical and commercial solutions, including relationships with external and internal suppliers seeking the best solutions.
  • Deliver articulate and compelling value propositions around Viasat products and services.
  • Carefully listen and understand customer needs and explain how our offerings can address those needs.
  • Establish relationships with key technical, operations, marketing, product management, and program delivery stakeholders within our clients.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and propose solutions.
  • Own the customer engagement - driving the requirement gathering and scoping process and leading customer solution workshops.
  • Present a persuasive business case, sound technical arguments, and a clear value proposition.
  • Respond to the technical elements of RFI/RFP/RFQs.
  • Conduct trials, pilots, and homologation of 3rd party and Viasat solutions with customers.
  • Deliver Customer Demonstrations, Technical Presentations, Proposal Documents, Workshops, and Training.
  • Provide support on contract development and negotiation.
  • Be the technical focal point for customers' enquiries and owner of solution implementation.
  • Skill / Knowledge: An experienced professional known as a strong subject matter expert with unique knowledge and awareness of industry standards. Uses expert concepts and skills to develop objectives and achieve goals.
  • Leadership / Influence: Contributes as a thought leader and may guide others in resolving complex issues; articulates ideas for the future state. May train and mentor junior-level staff to improve their skills.
What you'll need
  • BA or BS degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
  • A minimum of 10 years of technical pre-sales activities (solution development, pricing, delivery) related to internet service provider markets
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical pre-sales activities with satellite solutions, including Vsat networks
  • Pre-Sales skills: experience with big RFI / RFP's, providing solution development, pricing, and delivery planning
  • Strong knowledge of financial models and taxes (Margin, NPV, EBITDA, Payback)
  • Project management skills: leading customer deployment solutions
  • Data Analysis: data extraction using SQL and advanced executive analysis with recommendations (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working experience within Brazilian carriers/telecom operators
  • Experience in end-to-end solution homologation and implementation support
  • Minimum knowledge on how to set up network devices (IP addressing) as part of customer's proof of concept
  • Technical background in WAN and LAN solutions (VPN, MPLS, QoS, Internet Access, WiFi solution)
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view and enable the decision-making process
  • Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese
  • A willingness to travel, given the location of our client base. This should cap out at no more than 30% of your time
What will help you on the job

  • Technical network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, Network+)
  • Experience with Data Analytics (Tableau) and Python
