Exhibit Technician

Job Description:

The Exhibit Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing exhibits and displays. This role ensures that exhibits are safe, functional, and visually engaging for visitors, while collaborating closely with curators, designers, and other museum staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, and dismantle exhibits and display structures.
• Maintain and repair exhibits, including mechanical, electrical, and interactive components.
• Ensure exhibits comply with safety standards and accessibility requirements.
• Assist in designing, prototyping, and fabricating new exhibit components.
• Monitor exhibit performance and visitor interactions, reporting any issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of materials for exhibit construction.
• Collaborate with curators, designers, and educators to enhance visitor experience.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification preferred.
• Experience in construction, carpentry, electrical work, or exhibit installation.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems used in exhibits.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
