A global industrial brand is seeking a
Country Director – Brazil
to relaunch and lead its in-country operations. Based in Belo Horizonte, this role presents a rare opportunity to rebuild, grow, and drive a strategic business unit from the ground up, combining leadership, operational control, customer engagement, and commercial accountability.
You'll be responsible for the profitable delivery of products and services, team development, strategic sales execution, and establishing long-term client and partner relationships across key industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the restart and growth of operations in Brazil, including sourcing new premises, hiring staff, and rebuilding core infrastructure (sales, workshop, logistics).
- Drive commercial strategy, including pricing models, contract negotiations, customer engagement, and budgeting.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive B2B growth and brand visibility.
- Manage logistics, warehousing, and technical operations for imported product supply from South Africa and the USA.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with clients, distributors, and partners.
- Drive operational and financial efficiency while meeting safety, quality, and delivery standards.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate governance frameworks.
- Lead a multi-functional team including technical sales, service, and support, with an initial headcount of about five, growing to 10 within 24 months.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience launching or turning around business units.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to build high-performing teams.
- Commercially astute with experience in pricing, sales strategy, and contract management.
- Deep customer orientation, enjoys engaging face-to-face with clients to build long-term trust.
- Fluent in
Portuguese and English
.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Commerce (postgraduate qualification preferred).
- 10+ years of experience
managing sales, marketing, and distribution teams. - At least
3 years in a senior leadership role
with full P&L accountability. - Industry experience in valves, pumps, mining, water, or adjacent sectors
strongly preferred. - Technical acumen or ability to rapidly grasp technical product knowledge.
