Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accessibility Experience Designer to ensure that our digital products and services are inclusive, usable, and compliant with accessibility standards. This role requires expertise in accessibility guidelines, assistive technologies, and user-centered design principles to create seamless experiences for people of all abilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility into every stage of the design and development process.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and improve accessibility in digital products, ensuring compliance with WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant standards.

Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to embed accessibility best practices into design and development workflows.

Conduct accessibility audits and usability testing with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, voice recognition, keyboard navigation).

Create and maintain accessibility guidelines, design systems, and documentation.

Advocate for inclusive design principles and educate teams on accessibility requirements.

Partner with QA engineers to develop and execute accessibility test plans.

Stay current on evolving accessibility standards, tools, and emerging technologies.

Provide actionable recommendations to improve inclusivity across digital experiences.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX/UI Design, Computer Science, or related field.

2+ years of experience in accessibility design, UX design, or inclusive product development.

Strong knowledge of WCAG, ADA, Section 508, EN , or similar accessibility standards.

Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).

Familiarity with assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA).

Strong communication skills with the ability to advocate for inclusive design across teams.

Experience working with diverse user groups, including individuals with disabilities.

Preferred Skills

Certification in accessibility (e.g., IAAP CPACC, WAS, or CPWA).

Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, ARIA, JavaScript) for accessible design implementation.

Knowledge of cognitive accessibility and inclusive content strategy.

Background in usability research and user testing with accessibility focus.

Experience building accessibility-first design systems at scale.
