About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to lead our financial operations in Laguna, Santa Catarina. This role is crucial for ensuring local tax compliance, managing end-to-end financial accounting, overseeing factory cost control, and driving ERP system implementation. The ideal candidate will also lead and develop the Brazilian finance team while providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Brazilian Local Tax Compliance & Strategy

  2. Ensure full compliance with Brazilian tax regulations (ICMS, IPI, IRPJ, CSLL) and industry-specific rules.

  3. Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize tax liabilities, utilize incentives, and mitigate risks.
  4. Maintain regular communication with Federal and State Tax Authorities and submit timely reports.

  5. Monitor changes in tax laws and conduct cross-departmental tax trainings.

  6. End-to-End Financial Accounting & Factory Cost Control

  7. Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, bank reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing.

  8. Take ownership of factory cost accounting and establish a cost accumulation system (materials, labor, overhead).
  9. Conduct cost variance analysis and implement cost optimization initiatives.

  10. Collaborate with production and inventory teams to resolve discrepancies and support accurate financial reporting.

  11. ERP System Go-Live Leadership & Optimization

  12. Lead ERP system implementation (e.g., Infor LN) for finance modules, including cost centers, chart of accounts, and tax configurations.

  13. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of business processes.
  14. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and resolve system issues before go-live.
  15. Develop ERP training programs and provide post-go-live support.

  16. Drive continuous improvements in ERP functionality to adapt to business and regulatory changes.

  17. Finance Team Management & Capability Building

  18. Manage and mentor the Brazilian finance team, set performance goals, and conduct evaluations.

  19. Develop team capabilities through training on taxation, cost management, and ERP operations.
  20. Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous learning.
  21. Optimize workflows, provide financial insights to production and sales teams, and support cross-departmental projects.
  22. Lead internal audits to ensure compliance and integrity of financial data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CA/MBA preferred.
  • Must have a valid CRC registration issued by the Brazilian Accounting Council.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor LN preferred) and ERP implementation projects.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English.
