Role OverviewWe're seeking an Automations Specialist to design, implement, and maintain intelligent workflows across the organization. You'll build systems that power everything from marketing automation and order tracking to data visibility and AI integration.
This role is ideal for a no-code builder or systems engineer who loves connecting tools, simplifying complexity, and delivering measurable impact. You'll take full ownership of how information flows through the company — integrating platforms, automating bottlenecks, and freeing teams from manual work.

Automation Design & Implementation – 40%
- Build and maintain reliable automations using Make, Zapier, or n8n.
- Integrate tools across the stack — Shopify, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Skio, Notion, Slack.
- Apply version control, logging, and structured documentation for every workflow.
- Test and debug automations to ensure reliability and data accuracy.
Cross-Functional Workflow Optimization – 25%
- Partner with growth, operations, CX, and science teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Map workflows, measure time/cost impact, and prioritize high-leverage processes.
- Build reporting and dashboard automations for visibility and accountability.
AI & Data Integration – 20%
- Use GPT-based tools and APIs to automate customer communication and data analysis.
- Build internal productivity bots (Slack, Notion, or Airtable automations).
- Integrate APIs to unify data between internal tools and analytics platforms.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement – 15%
- Define metrics for automation success (time saved, error reduction, efficiency gains).
- Continuously refine systems based on feedback and performance.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and training guides for stakeholders.
Must-Have
- 2+ years of experience in no-code or low-code automation (startup or tech environment).
- Hands-on experience with Make, Zapier, or n8n for end-to-end workflow design.
- Strong API literacy — reading documentation, testing endpoints, and connecting tools.
- Solid understanding of logic, data flow, and error handling (no CS degree required).
- Excellent written and verbal English; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and independently, managing multiple priorities.
- Experience automating workflows in Shopify ecosystems (Shopify Flows, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Skio).
- Exposure to AI tool integration (OpenAI API, Claude, Gemini, or similar).
- Background in biotech, consumer health, or eCommerce operations.
- Familiarity with multi-step automation workflows and complex branching logic.
- Automation Platforms: Make, Zapier, n8n
- AI & Data Tools: OpenAI API, Google Workspace, Notion
- Core Systems: Shopify, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Slack
- Documentation & Testing: Notion, Google Sheets, Postman
- Monitoring (Preferred): Databox, Looker, or custom dashboards
- Systems thinker with a builder's mindset — sees inefficiencies and automates them fast.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and data-driven.
