About the team

We are a lean and highly collaborative group of engineers who play a central role in shaping product decisions and delivering an exceptional experience to a global audience of founders. We value clean, well-tested code, thoughtful reviews, and simplicity in everything we build. From writing production-grade Golang services to owning end-to-end software projects, we work closely together to drive clarity, scalability, and impact.

Our product is built using PHP, Golang, , Vue, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AWS. We also use Redis, Vue Router, Vuex, Docker Compose, Docker, GitLab CI, and Graylog, and some third-party API's like Stripe. We use Slack, Clubhouse, Notion, Whimsical, Figma, and G Suite to collaborate and build together.

What you will do

Join one of the most impactful engineering roles at Firstbase — scale a high-growth platform, shape critical technical decisions, and lead a world-class team driving innovation and excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Architect Scalable ML Infrastructure: Design and maintain robust ML environments on Databricks, using Unity Catalog, feature stores, and Apache Spark to enable high-performance workflows.

• Automate the Model Lifecycle: Build pipelines for training, retraining, validation, and deployment — ensuring speed, reliability, and reproducibility.

• Implement Monitoring & Drift Detection: Create frameworks for continuous monitoring of data and model drift, keeping production models accurate and reliable.

• Low-Latency Execution: Develop and optimize real-time ML pipelines, including reinforcement learning (RL) applications such as Contextual Bandits.

• Establish CI/CD for ML: Set up and maintain CI/CD processes for ML workflows, integrating Databricks with Git-based systems and automated testing.

• Define Best Practices: Lead the creation of standards for model versioning, calibration, and documentation across the ML lifecycle.

You should meet the following requirements

• Be based in a LatAm country (although the position is remote)

• 3+ years in MLOps, ML Engineering, or Data Engineering, with direct experience deploying ML workflows into production.

• 4+ years of Engineering experience.

• 2–3 years of working with Databricks, Apache Spark, MLflow, Unity Catalog, and feature stores.

• Hands-on experience with ML lifecycle tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Airflow.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automation.

• Expertise in model performance tracking, drift detection, and retraining strategies.

• Mediocrity is your enemy. You don't stop until you get to "great." You're relentless in pursuit of excellence.

• You speak your mind, challenge assumptions, and present ideas clearly — no fear of conflict. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication across teams and with international stakeholders

  Nice to have

• Experience in previous jobs working with financial products.

• 1+ years hands-on with LLMs and GenAI techniques — prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, etc.
