This role is a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical industry application, with a core focus on forecasting consumer behavior.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor an AI research and development team, fostering an environment of academic rigor and innovation.
  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models, with a primary focus on multi-variate time series forecasting for consumer products.
  • Apply advanced statistical, econometric, and optimization techniques to generate actionable insights from large, complex datasets.
  • Write clean, scalable, and production-ready Python code to support modeling, data analysis, and pipeline development.
  • Work within our modern data stack, leveraging platforms like Azure, Databricks, and Spark to process and analyze data at scale.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to understand challenges, define problems, and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Continuously research and implement cutting-edge methodologies in AI, machine learning, and quantitative analysis to drive innovation.

Who You Are (Required Qualifications)

  • A Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as Science (Physics, Biology, etc.), Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • A strong, demonstrable foundation in statistics and linear algebra.
  • Proven experience in applying quantitative methods and machine learning to solve complex problems (in either an academic or industry setting).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, statsmodels).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Must currently reside in Brazil.

What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Direct experience developing and implementing multi-variate time series forecasting models, especially in a consumer products or retail context.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Based in or willing to work frequently from São Paulo.
