Supplier Quality Engineer

Newland NPT is a global leader in POS terminal solutions, headquartered in Fuzhou, China, with its LATAM operations hub in Sao Paulo. We are seeking an experienced SQE for localised supplier management in Brazil. This role reports dually to Brazilian Regional Leadership and the Global Business Team at HQ (China).

Responsibilities

(1) Quality Issue Handling

  1. Issue Handling: When an abnormal batch is found, isolate, label, and collaborate with

local PE and planning teams to handle it.

  1. Minor Issues: Coordinate locally to prevent production delays, implement urgent

countermeasures, and send the actions to HQ.

  1. Major Issues: Complete a quality report, describe the issue, impact, and temporary

countermeasures, work with HQ SQE to devise a plan, and monitor the corrective actions.

(2) Part Quality Control

  1. Incoming Inspection: Supervise local inspection to ensure strict adherence to HQ's

sampling plans and standards.

  1. Sampling & Testing: Conduct random checks and reliability testing, report regularly to

HQ for review.

  1. New Parts Testing: Assist with new part validation and submit reports to HQ for approval.

  2. Quality Feedback: Collect customer quality concerns and suggest improvements to HQ,

helping to establish a global, unified quality system.

(3) Supplier Quality Management

  1. New Supplier Audits: Evaluate new suppliers' quality systems and capabilities, write

detailed reports for HQ.

  1. Existing Supplier Audits: Conduct regular audits of existing suppliers, monitor key

processes and quality control points, and report to HQ.

  1. Communication: Serve as the main communication channel for quality matters between

the company and suppliers, ensuring clear understanding and execution of quality

agreements and standards.

(4) Document Management & Data Analysis

  1. Quality Document Management: Collect, organize, and archive quality-related

documents to ensure completeness and traceability.

  1. Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect quality data, generate reports, analyze weak spots,

and provide improvement suggestions to HQ.

Qualifications

1.At least 3 years of experience in supplier quality management, with preference given to candidates with experience managing overseas suppliers or working in multinational companies.

  1. Familiar with quality management systems and possess practical experience in conducting supplier audits, quality control, issue resolution, and related tasks.

  2. Proficient in quality management tools and methods, such as the seven basic tools, PDCA cycle, FMEA, etc., and capable of using these tools for quality analysis and improvement.

  3. A good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and failure mechanisms for customized parts (at least for structures and packaging materials) is required.
