Overview:
The Accounting Analyst will join the Accounting & Controls team, focusing on activities related to accounting (Local and US GAAP), tax operations, compliance, internal controls, banking support, and other finance- related functions. The role requires ensuring effective communication and execution of financial controls, tax compliance, and monthly financial closings, in alignment with both international and local accounting principles (IFRS).
This position will directly interact with various internal organizations at client, such as Corporate Finance, Financial Operations, and Treasury, to ensure compliance with Brazilian regulations and client's internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting:
• Perform account analysis and upload journal entries into SAP;
• Review accounting reconciliations for US GAAP;
• Prepare accounting reconciliations for Local GAAP;
• Reconcile differences between US GAAP and Local GAAP books;
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting and financial analysis;
• Prepare and review monthly accounting reconciliation books;
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure accurate execution of transactional roles;
• Work with Fixed Assets, IFRS 16 and other specific accounting processes;
• Assist in preparing Statutory Financial Statements.
2. Taxes and Compliance:
• Review backup documentation prepared by third-party vendors supporting tax operations and statutory compliance (CIT and IDT);
• Ensure accuracy in tax accounting, particularly direct taxes, for reconciliations (credits, liabilities, and P&L);
• Identify and analyze process and system improvements to enhance client's operations;
• Support internal and external audits;
• Align local processes and controls with client's policies.
3. Banking and Other Finance Activities
• Perform cash and treasury reconciliations/activities;
• Collaborate with the US Treasury team to support insurance and guarantee letter contracts as well as monthly intercompany transaction settlements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business, or Finance;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance, with a focus on Accounting and Taxes;
• Strong knowledge of tax accounting, especially direct taxes, ensuring the accuracy of reconciliations (credits, liabilities, and P&L);
• Comprehensive understanding of finance activities and routines, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, cash management, indirect and direct taxes, and internal controls;
• Process-oriented mindset and strong analytical skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a multinational company.
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
