Field Agronomist

Main Activities or Responsibilities:

• • Customer Liaison and Technical Support:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with citrus growers and customers across Brazil.

  • Provide on-site support during the installation, setup, and optimization of our smart insect monitors to ensure maximum effectiveness.

  • Offer expert guidance on the application and use of our technology in citrus operations.

  Specialist Advice on ACP Management:

• Work closely with customers and utilise the data provided by Spotta's monitoring platform to monitor ACP populations, analyze trends, and provide actionable recommendations to reduce infestation and damage.

• Gather and analyze data on pest populations, crop yields, and environmental factor to identify trends and areas for improvement.

• Provide reports on pest management strategies, product performance, and any observed impacts on crop health.

• Training and Knowledge Sharing

• Train customer teams on best practise for the installation and maintenance of Spotta pods.
• Work with customers to establish and share best practices on how to use monitoring data most effectively.

Team Composition:

• Work closely with the R&D and product development teams at Spotta

Requirements:

• • Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Plant Protection, or a related field. A postgraduate degree or specialized certification is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the citrus industry in Brazil, with a focus on pest management, specifically in dealing with Asian Citrus Psyllid (ACP).
• In-depth knowledge of agronomy practices, integrated pest management (IPM), and
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative to meet customer needs
• A valid driving licence is required
• Experience of working within remote diagnostic, technical support solutions in a customer support environment is desirable
• Fluency in Portuguese and working level English
• Strong understanding of the Brazilian citrus industry, including key challenges and opportunities.
• In-depth knowledge of agronomy practices, integrated pest management (IPM), and crop protection techniques specific to citrus.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and using technology to drive agronomic.

Skills:

• Hands-on experience in the installation, use, and support of agricultural technology solutions is highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to customers in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Customer focused with excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in pest management and crop health
