Purpose of the role: 
Professional responsible for leading projects focused on the development and innovation of industrial fabrics, aligned with market demands and the company's and sales department's strategies. This role will work on the continuous improvement of existing products, creation of new fabrics, proposal of innovative solutions, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring competitiveness and added value for our customers.  

The role will be based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Analyze market demands and technological trends to guide developments.
  • Apply continuous improvement to existing fabrics, seeking enhancements in performance, cost, and durability.
  • Develop new fabrics for industrial applications, considering technical and commercial requirements.
  • Localize fabrics currently manufactured in other Valmet plants.
  • Reproduce third-party fabrics on Valmet Brazil looms.
  • Manage results related to material specifications (polymeric bonds).
  • Propose innovative ideas that add value to products and processes.
  • Lead sustainability projects, including the use of recyclable materials, reduction of environmental impact, and energy efficiency.
  • Interact with internal areas (Sales, Production, Quality) and customers to validate requirements and solutions.
  • Manage laboratory and pilot tests, ensuring reliability of results.
  • Document processes and technical specifications for new developments.

Experience and education: 

  • Education: Degree in Materials Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in fabric or industrial product development.
  • Languages: English required; Spanish desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Weaving and finishing processes.
    • Fiber and material selection.
    • Technical standards and performance testing.
  • Innovative thinking and results orientation.
  • Ability to analyze market and trends.
  • Project management and teamwork.
