Main Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Openstack clouds, including deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Openstack components such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, and Keystone.
- Design, implement, and manage CEPH storage on Openstack, including configuration of CEPH clusters, storage pools, and RBD devices, to provide highly scalable and reliable storage solutions.
- Utilize Ansible to automate deployment, configuration, and management of Openstack and Linux environments, including development of playbooks and roles to streamline automation tasks.
- Provide L3 support for Openstack and Linux OS (RedHat Linux, Centos, Ubuntu), including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues (24/7/365)
- Ensure high availability and scalability of Openstack clouds, including design and implementation of HA clusters and load balancing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Openstack components, such as compute, storage, and networking.
- Work with various Openstack tools, such as Openstack CLI, Horizon to manage and automate cloud resources.
- Proactively monitor all Openstack/UNIX systems utilizing BNP Paribas standard tools.
- Maintain complete inventory and documentation of deployed systems.
- Perform capacity planning and optimization of Openstack clouds, including monitoring and analysis of performance metrics.
- Liaise with application developers to gather requirements, design and deploy standard systems, which clearly differentiate between Production, DR, Test and Development.
- Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development team and Equity business to make corrections and mitigate risks.
- Ensure that all systems are backed up according to the business requirements and notify the data owners when there are failures.
- Ensure optimal resilience of deployed systems; and meet all disaster recovery requirements specified by the business.
- Liaise with IT Production Engineers in troubleshooting complex, cross-platform issues.
- Evaluate emerging system technologies and align their benefits with the business strategy of BNPP.
- Maintain top-notch technical skills and business knowledge through proactive self-learning in addition to any formal instructor-led training provided by BNP Paribas.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor''s Degree.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Strong technical knowledge of Openstack components, including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, and Keystone, as well as expert knowledge of RedHat Enterprise, 7.x, 8.x, 9.x and solid footing in Ubuntu
- Good knowledge of system performance and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, sar, iostat, vmstat, etc.
- Good programming skills with Perl, Awk, Sed, Shell script (Bourne, C, Korn).
- Proficiency in automation tools, specifically Ansible, to automate tasks and streamline Openstack and Linux administration, with experience in scripting languages like Python or Perl being a plus.
- Administration of Unix core services and applications such as NIS, NFS, Automount, DNS, DHCP, CIFS, SendMail, Apache, NTP, PTP, Sudo, Jumpstart/Kickstart, LDAP, SSH, Puppet.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (Ldoms, VMWare, KVM etc.).
- Good knowledge of EMC SAN, Pure storage arrays, NetAPP Network Appliances and CEPH storage.
- Experience in Linux/ UNIX environment within the financial services industry.
- Communication, collaborative teamwork, problem solving.
