About the job

We are looking for a
Research Specialist
who identifies, develop, and support the implementation of research projects to improve RHI Magnesita raw materials operations.

The professional will be responsible to manage a vast project portfolio to develop raw materials and mineral processing technologies from research to industrial application. Moreover, this position would also assist in our recycling processing technologies development, part of company strategy for carbon footprint reduction.

In addition, your tasks will include

• Develop research projects on mineral processing for RHIM raw materials plants.
• Manage research projects to assess refractories recycling processing technologies.
• Coordinate partnerships with start-ups and universities across the globe.
• Identify opportunities for technology developments by RHIM plants and suppliers visits, interdepartmental discussions and literature search.
• Definition and management of scope, tasks and schedule for project portfolio.
• Set-up, management and analysis of lab and field trials.
• Autonomy to make technical decisions and pivot on the project development.
• Develop close collaboration within the global R&D team and related departments.

In addition, you have:

• Bachelor in chemical, metallurgy, or mining engineering with focus on Mineral Processing.
• Professional experience in research or process development for mining operations.
• Master or Doctorate in Mineral Processing is an advantage.
• Ability to manage projects independently, taking care over an extensive portfolio.
• Fluent English and Portuguese.
• Intercultural work experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge on innovation agile methods is an advantage.
• Experience working on mineral processing plants is an advantage.
