Responsabilidades e atribuições
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bilingual College and Career Counselor fluent in Portuguese and English to join our team. The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to students as they navigate their post-high school education and career goals. As a Bilingual College and Career Counselor, you will work collaboratively with students, families, and educators to provide resources and information that will help them make informed decisions about their future. This is a highly rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students on college and career planning, including academic planning, career exploration, and the college selection and application process.
• Develop and implement college and career readiness programs and workshops for students and families.
• Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and goals to help them make informed decisions about their future.
• Stay up-to-date on trends and developments in college admissions, financial aid, and career opportunities and share this information with students and families.
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and community organizations to develop and implement college and career readiness initiatives and programs.
• Serve as a liaison between the school and post-secondary institutions, employers, and other community partners to promote opportunities for students.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and provide reports to administrators as needed.
• Attend professional development opportunities and conferences to stay informed about best practices in college and career counseling.
• Participate in school events and initiatives to promote a college and career culture.

Requisitos e qualificações

• Degree in education or related fields.
• Experience in college and career counseling or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and career exploration resources.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with students, families, and educators.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Commitment to providing equitable access to college and career opportunities for all students.
• Familiarity with college and career readiness software and tools is preferred.
