Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Brazil Customs and Compliance Specialist to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of our import/export activities in Brazil. You will play a key role as the vital link, coordinating internal business teams, customs brokers, and customs authorities. You will manage the end-to-end process from clearance to delivery, proactively address regulatory changes and potential risks, and safeguard the smoothness and security of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Manage risk control for the entire Brazil import customs clearance process, regularly assess and prevent compliance risks.
2.Continuously monitor changes in Brazilian customs policies and regulations, interpret them in a timely manner, and drive internal process and documentation adjustments for compliance.
3.Handle daily customs operation issues, including coordination and follow-up on logistics exceptions such as local delivery and warehousing.
4.Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders, customs brokers, and Brazilian customs authorities to resolve ad-hoc issues like inspections and document discrepancies.
5.Support the organization and analysis of customs-related data to optimize clearance efficiency and help reduce duty and logistics costs.
Requirements:
1.Minimum of 3 years of experience in international customs affairs or logistics, with in-depth knowledge of Brazilian import declaration, tax regimes, and customs supervision requirements.
2.Solid practical knowledge of Brazil's Mercosul Common Nomenclature (NCM) and experience in independently reviewing product classification and compliance documents.
3.Excellent communication, coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple stakeholders and emergency situations.
4.Meticulous, detail-oriented work style with strong risk awareness and problem-solving abilities.
5.Must possess legal authorization to work in Brazil (e.g., Brazilian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid work visa compliant with local regulations).
6.Professional working proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in Portuguese is essential for this role. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.
7.Prior experience in a multinational corporation or a local Brazilian company in a customs role is preferred.
