Overall Role Description
Systems engineering is an outcome driven collaboration with customers through a focussed and proactive approach to the front-end space of an oil and gas development. It requires a holistic view where a 'systematic' approach to design is deployed. This necessitates a robust understanding of project value drivers, key technical challenges and overarching parameters including reservoir performance and subsurface profiling, flow assurance boundary conditions and system operability, environmental conditions, constructability, design life and intervention requirements, and abandonment and decommissioning frameworks.

As a Senior systems engineer, you will be operating within a multi-disciplinary team. You will be challenged to lead Front End Engineering & Development studies, where you will give support to projects and support technology development at a system coordination level. You will also support execution of subsea projects. You may be accountable for cost, schedule and HS&E performance and support project management activities.

You will be supporting the regional sales and commercial teams in interacting with Customer, providing technical expertise support during early engagement activities, leading to contract award.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
Technical:

• Maintain operational reporting to assigned study manager and ability to act as a study manager as required.
• Providing system design input to large subsea project proposals and equipment contracts
• Project engineering and lead role for system layout and definition from concept definition phase to FEED, detail engineering and execution phases of a subsea project
• Development of subsea system field concepts and optimizations
• Define and prepare functional specifications for subsea system building blocks such as Trees, Controls, Wellhead connections, Manifolds, and Flowlines
• Interface definition and management amongst different work packages, BAKER HUGHES locations and towards the client
• Reporting of progress, technical and interface matters in project meetings and progress reports of assigned tasks and CTRs.
• Assist R&D initiatives on field optimization and design reviews

Quality
:

• Ensuring the work is performed in accordance with BAKER HUGHES Quality Management Systems.

Client interfacing:

• Liaises with clients on a technical level to ensure their needs are being met and ensuring they are aware of the data input requirements to allow the study to proceed on-schedule.
• Provides technical leadership as required on studies, projects and other tasks assigned by line manager.

Business Development

• Supports the OFE commercial organization in identifying and pursuing opportunities related to early engagement.
• Proposals
• Assists in preparing proposals as part of a proposals team or technical peer checker

Specialist Tasks And Duties (as Deemed Required)

• Support execution phase of projects
• Use and develop internal systems and software tools for undertaking engineering tasks leading to safe and successful delivery of jobs.
• Seek out and promote application of new technology to enable promotion and positioning of BAKER HUGHES to the market

Qualifications And Requirements

• Master's Degree or bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
• Broad knowledge of processes, methods and procedures within project and engineering management
• Demonstrable depth of experience in project engineering within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the Subsea Systems Engineering Lifecycle from NPI, Tender development, Project Engineering, SIT, commissioning, and operations
• Proven experience in design and selection across one or more of the following: Field architecture / Flow assurance / System Analysis / Interface Management / Requirement Management / Process engineering / Subsea Production Systems / Risers, flowlines and pipelines / Control systems / Constructability and installation.
• Availability to travel internationally for project needs and for short term assignments
