Join OSM Thome as a Utility Operator onboard an FPSO/FSO operating offshore Vitoria, Brazil. In this role you support safe and efficient daily operations, ensuring utilities and systems run smoothly to keep the unit fully operational.

Key responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret process diagrams (P&ID);

  • Operate, control, and monitor the machinery space and mechanical equipment, utility systems (including power generation and steam facilities), and utility control rooms, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency;

  • Assist and participate in meetings related to the operation and maintenance of utility systems, as required;

  • Identify and report deviations from standard operating conditions, and develop and initiate corrective actions;

  • Identify and report utility system issues, mechanical equipment failures, and maintenance requirements;

  • Prepare required reports, maintain records, and ensure proper documentation is kept up to date;

  • Perform first-line maintenance on utility systems and mechanical equipment, including preventive and corrective maintenance activities, in accordance with SAP system requirements;

  • Carry out chemical sampling and analyses in industrial systems in compliance with applicable requirements;

  • Coordinate with other departments to align activities and support preventive and corrective maintenance performed by other disciplines within the utility systems area;

  • Manage and inventory consumables related to utility systems;

  • Control work permits and audit Work Permits (WPs) related to utility systems, in accordance with the Permit to Work System;

  • Attend training sessions relevant to the position's requirements;

  • Provide on-the-job training to colleagues;

  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, if required by the Company;

  • Perform safety-related duties as required by the Ship Security Plan (SSP);

  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the Head of Department, including area responsibility and housekeeping duties.

Requirements:

  • Previous offshore / FPSO / FSO or marine experience in a similar utility or rating role;
  • Relevant seafarer documents and offshore certificates valid for Brazil;
  • Good understanding of safety rules and safe working practices;
  • Ability to work in shifts and in offshore conditions;
  • Intermediate English communication skills; teamwork-oriented attitude.
