Marine Technology is seeking a 
General Manager
 to lead its new operation in Brazil. The role involves full responsibility for setting up and managing the local company, including operations, sales, compliance, and team leadership.

The General Manager will act as the 
legal representative
, ensure compliance with Brazilian laws, delivery of equipment (reels, carousels, etc.), and drive business development in the oil & gas sector. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong local industry experience and the ability to scale operations from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the 
    legal representative (Administrator)
     of the Brazilian Ltda entity
  • Lead all aspects of 
    business setup
    , operations, and growth strategy
  • Hiring and managing staff
  • Oversee 
    sales, production, and logistics
    , working closely with the European HQ
  • Manage 
    budgeting, supplier negotiations
    , and operational compliance
  • Build and maintain relationships with 
    key industry clients and stakeholders
  • Drive participation in 
    tender processes
    , prepare RFQs, and lead commercial negotiations
  • Ensure full compliance with 
    Brazilian labor, tax, and import/export regulations
  • Representing the company in alignment with 
    quality, safety, and ESG standards

Requirements:

  • Legally eligible to serve as 
    Administrator
     of a Ltda company in Brazil
  • 5+ years in a 
    management role
     within oil & gas, subsea, or marine equipment sectors
  • Have strategic thinking, negotiation skills, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility
  • Solid understanding of 
    cable handling equipment
    , reels, carousels, or similar systems
  • Proven experience with 
    startups or scaling business operations
  • Strong grasp of 
    Brazilian labor laws
    , taxation, and import/export regulations
  • Established network within the 
    offshore and energy sectors
  • Fluent or Native in 
    Portuguese
    ; 
    Advanced English
     (mandatory for international collaboration)

Advantages:

    General Manager, Operations Manager

    Technical Sales Manager
  • Familiarity with 
    ISO, ASME, DNV
    , and related quality/safety standards
  • Understanding of 
    industrial importation processes
    , including customs clearance
  • Willingness to 
    travel frequently
     across Brazil and to client locations
