The Team: 

Our Electric Power team is seeking a Price Reporter based in São Paulo to enhance our market reporting capabilities within the Brazilian power sector. This role is vital for strengthening existing pricing and content while providing valuable local insights and expertise. The reporter will focus on daily coverage of the Brazilian power markets and contribute to broader initiatives across Latin America. 

Responsibilities and Impact:  

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Coverage of Brazil Power Markets:

  • Provide comprehensive daily coverage of the Brazilian power markets, delivering timely and accurate assessments.
  • Utilize local insights and native language proficiency to enhance the quality and relevance of market reports.
  • Engage with market participants, policymakers, and industry leaders to gather insights and foster relationships.

Market Research in Latin America:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify expansion opportunities within Latin America, focusing on countries such as Chile.
  • Assess market conditions, regulatory environments, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic planning and reporting.

Support for Natural Gas Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with the natural gas team to support their initiatives in Brazil, providing market insights and analysis that contribute to the team's objectives.
  • Analyze the interplay between the power and natural gas markets to inform strategic decisions.

Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders on various initiatives related to power, gas, and energy transition in Brazil.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that aim to enhance our understanding and reporting of the evolving energy landscape.

What We're Looking For: 

Basic Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Environmental Science). 

  • Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English. 

  • Strong analytical skills with a basic understanding of power markets and pricing mechanisms. 

  • Familiarity with market analysis or reporting within the energy sector is a plus (internships or academic projects). 

  • Basic understanding of the regulatory environments governing power and energy markets in Brazil. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel); experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python) is a plus but not required. 

  • Knowledge of database management and querying languages (e.g., SQL) is a plus. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders. 

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic market environment. 

  • A demonstrated interest in renewable energy trends and technologies is a plus. 

  • Understanding of the cultural and economic factors influencing the energy markets in Latin America.
