Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our medical team as a Patient Intake Coordinator. The ideal candidate has experience managing patient records, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Cerner. This role supports medical staff by ensuring accurate patient information and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

By efficiently managing patient intake, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring HIPAA compliance, this position saves valuable time for clinical staff and enhances patient care quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient records in EHR systems such as Cerner.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for new and existing patients.
  • Update patient charts and personal information accurately.
  • Collect and enter patient intake forms, medical histories, and consent forms.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other patient privacy regulations.
  • Communicate with patients, insurance providers, and medical staff to clarify or collect information.
  • Support clinical staff with documentation, reporting, and record management.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in patient intake, medical administration, or related healthcare support roles.
  • Familiarity with EHR platforms such as Cerner, Epic, or Meditech.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • HIPAA certification or demonstrated HIPAA compliance training.
