Engineering Manager

ADP SBS division is hiring an Manager Product Development (Engineering Manager).

In this role, you will lead a team of software engineers who build and maintain microservices and web applications that composes the ADP Retirement Services provides comprehensive retirement plan solutions to help organizations manage and administer employee retirement benefits. No two days are alike. You will spend your time checking in with your team, stateside or abroad. You will facilitate the team's work through coaching and guidance and provide leadership with realistic expectations and deadlines. You will be the final set of eyes to review technical solution for quarterly initiatives and manage ad-hoc requests as they arise. You'll be accountable for something significant: the uncompromising quality of products that impact people's lives.

To thrive in this role, you need to have skills the three pillars: Software Engineering, Project Management and Leadership. You'll need a solid understanding of software development at scale, including knowledge of Microsoft technologies (.NET, SQLServer), JavaScript and ), Cloud Services, Relational Databases, microservice and micro-frontend architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and is up to date with technology trends. You need to know how to manage software development projects using Agile Methodologies, applying the processes that best fit to each team. You need to know what are the best practices on Software Development Life Cycle. You need to manage software engineers career pursuing their growth altogether with ADP's growth.

Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will keep the team informed of company-wide initiatives and leaders comfortable with the team's progress. Team collaboration and exchange of ideas are central to projects here. You will be a role model for motivating yourself and the team to maintain positive momentum and energy. Pace does not scare you. Everyone can lose the big picture from time to time, but you're the team leader who helps everyone find it again and deliver.

Here's What You Can Expect On a Typical Day

• Drive cultural change and transformation: Lead, inspire and engage a team as you continue to transform, develop, design, and deliver our next-generation platform to clients.
• Build teams that thrive: As an experienced technical leader, you want everyone to shine. You'll start each day by checking in with your engineering team to identify priorities and challenges. You'll find a way to make the team's day go smoother. You are constantly looking for ways to share your knowledge, motivate others and keep everyone engaged and productive.
• Build Products: You will use your technical expertise to review your team's work and help your people excel in an Agile environment. You're proactive and hands-on. When you see a potential issue, you never leave things hanging and unfinished. When you and your team deliver a finished product, it's as polished as you could make it.
• Variety of work: There is no typical day. You could be checking in with a team in UK one minute, meeting with leadership to review initiatives for the coming quarter later and tomorrow handling a few ad hoc requests from your peers in other departments.
• Influence and inspire confidence: You are comfortable presenting to senior leaders, product owners, architects and peers with a compelling voice that you demonstrate through executive presence, leading change, and creating clear executive-level communications on milestone achievements.

To Succeed In This Role

• You have solid experience in Technology area and in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.
• You have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.
• You have skills in the three areas: Software Engineering, Project Management and Team Leadership.
• Prior experience with .NET or Javascript or ) developing Web applications or Web services
• Prior experience designing and building Technical Solutions.
• Prior experience with Cloud Services, Relational Databases, microservice and micro-frontend architectures.
• You are up to date with technology trends.
• You know how to manage software development projects using Agile Methodologies.
• You know what are the best practices on Software Development Life Cycle and CI/CD pipelines.
• You manage software engineers careers pursuing their growth altogether with ADP's growth.
