Ocean Infinity is currently seeking a Lead Platform Engineer who is passionate about designing and optimizing scalable systems, experienced in cloud technologies, and committed to driving innovation.

What will you do:

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of DevOps engineers, SREs, and platform specialists, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development;

• Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of Platform Engineering processes, tools, and infrastructure that support the entire software development lifecycle;

• Establish and enforce standards for reliability, performance, and availability of our software systems through advanced monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management practices;

• Architect and drive automation strategies for deployment, configuration, scaling, and recovery of software applications using cloud platforms and container technologies;

• Lead development efforts for critical platform code and scripts to enhance functionality, security, and scalability of our software systems;

• Oversee incident response, lead complex troubleshooting efforts, and implement systematic improvements based on root cause analysis;

• Spearhead research initiatives on emerging technologies in Platform Engineering and develop strategic roadmaps for adoption;

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with business objectives;

• Serve as the technical authority for platform engineering decisions and represent the team in strategic planning discussions.

Who you are:

• 7+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, or similar role (DevOps, SRE, …);

• 3+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams, including DevOps engineers and SREs;

• Proficient of one or more programming languages, such as C#, Python, and Go, and writing code and scripts;

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their services and features;

• Expert knowledge of container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, and their orchestration and management tools;

• Experience with Linux operating systems and networking concepts, and their administration and optimization;

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog, and their configuration and usage;

• Strong leadership and team management skills with experience mentoring engineers and driving technical initiatives;

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with demonstrated success resolving complex, cross-system issues;

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• Proven track record of leading projects from conception to completion while managing competing priorities;

• Strategic thinking with the ability to balance immediate needs against long-term technical vision;

• Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;

• Ability to work as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders;

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment;

• Strong leadership skills;

• Strong interpersonal and people management skills;

• Strong communication skills;

• Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;

• Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet.

Desirable: 

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field;

• Industry relevant certifications.

Salary for this position: Up to €80,000 per annum

Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
