Let's start with the role

The Public Policy & Government Affairs team operates across a wide and diverse spectrum of functions, including government relations, policy expertise on various issues, risk and crisis management, outreach, partnerships, and coalition-building.

The team's mission is to design and advocate for effective solutions to critical gaming and technology challenges, fostering a political, legislative, and regulatory landscape that protects people while also encouraging growth and innovation for our business.

As a Regulatory & Public Affairs Specialist, you will:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of public policy strategies to advance Kaizen Gaming's commercial objectives in Brasilia, primarily within the Legislative Branch;
  • Monitor and analyse political and legislative developments affecting the online betting sector, providing insights and suggestions for action plans;
  • Interact with legislators and authorities to defend Kaizen Gaming's positions and interests in relation to public policy matters;
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Legal, Compliance, Responsible Gaming, AML, and Communications, to align business objectives with public policy goals;
  • Support relationship-building efforts in Brasilia with legislators, policymakers, and professionals from the online gambling industry;
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of written reports, summaries, and presentations to effectively communicate public and regulatory affairs issues to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Represent Kaizen Gaming in meetings in Brasilia, industry forums, and institutions, such as associations;
  • Manage the relationship with consultancies;
  • Assist in crisis management efforts from a public policy perspective, developing mitigation strategies as needed. 

What you should have:

  • Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations or a related field;
  • At least two years of  professional experience in government relations, public policy or related areas, preferably in regulated sectors - working for the tech industry is a plus;
  • Excellent judgement, persuasion and lobbying skills, creativity and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and often uncertain environment;
  • Knowledge of legislative processes in Brazil, with established relationships in the public policy community;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to build and maintain influential networks;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • A proven record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams, adopting a cooperative and solution-oriented approach;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written.
